I’m going to be honest with you, I just don’t know how to write this review. I desperately don’t want to give anything away, yet in the same breath, I want to tell everything. But if I did, that just wouldn’t be fair. Souls Unfractured is a book that you need to experience with no spoilers. With no information. Just go in it blind and feel.
This is not a standalone. You must read the previous books before this. While it has it’s own couple, the events that happen and the people in it are carried over from the first two books. This is not one of those where you can read it without reading the previous books.
It took me until about 30% to get into this book. Not because it was bad or that I didn’t connect with the characters. It was just so intense. I had a lot of interruptions and I just couldn’t concentrate. And then last night around midnight, when my house was quiet, I picked it up again. And I didn’t put it down until it was done at 6 am. It’s been a long time that a book held me so much that I didn’t even doze off while reading throughout the night. But I couldn’t put this down. I had to just invest and read. Because that’s what happens with this series, and especially with this book. You get invested. Your eyes open up to what is going on in this world. And even though you ache deep inside you reading about what two incredible strong but broken people go through, you can’t put it down.

We met Flame in the previous books and we know there is something different about him. But until you read Souls Unfractured do you truly know how deep his issues go. What you learn and what you read is so heartbreaking. My chest hurt when he told Maddie his story. A deep down ache coming from my heart.
And Maddie. You know her story. But not from her. You’ve heard it before but when she tells it, you anguish that comes out. Once again an ache. A hurt.
Flame and Maddie are the only ones that can heal each other. The way that Maddie gets through to Flame. The patience she has. The understand that she has. Their stories are so different but also so similar. And they heal each other through that understanding.
Tille Cole excels in making you feel. The way she writes is incredible. She puts so much feeling into each word. She put so much into each book. The research she does to bring stories to life is amazing. She opens my eyes to other worlds. Worlds I wouldn’t normally think of but now know so much about.
Tillie left Souls Unfractured with so many questions. And I know there are more books to come and those questions will be answered. But even though I love her books and I want more, I’m actually happy for the break. I need to a break from that world. I need to sit back and think about what happened. That’s how in depth and incredible this book is. My heart hurt so much, I need a break. But I will be waiting patiently for more because I’m hooked.
