Xavier Cold by Michelle A. Valentine

After reading Phenomenal X, I was looking forward to the conclusion of Xavier and Anna's story so much. But for me, Xavier Cold fell short. While it wrapped the story up and I liked the storyline, I felt that it was rushed. I didn't connect with X and Anna this time. I felt like it became a bit predictable. I knew how he would react to situations. I knew what was going to happen in the story. I know characters don't change drastically, especially someone like X, but you always want to see growth. While I felt he had some, he did surprise me at times, I felt that there wasn't enough.

To me, Xavier Cold was missing the extra something Phenomenal X. Maybe I built it up so much in anticipation. Maybe I wanted more then I should have. But I wanted to refall in love with these characters and it didn't happen.  I liked seeing how the cliffhanger was resolved. I like seeing how they came together in the end. But I was still left wanting more.

Full Domain by Kindle Alexander

Kindle Alexander made me fall in love again. And I'm not sure if I'm happy about it. It doesn't take much when she is writing but not only did I fall, I fell hard this time. I love all of her couples, but for some amazing reason, Kreed and Aaron just did me in. Her writing pulls me in, twists me around and throws me out many times while blushing.

Full Domain isn't just a book about falling in love, it's a book about everything that goes along with love. When you're in love, you can overlook so many things you might fight against, if you weren't. Kreed and Aaron aren't perfect. They are far from it. And their love might not be perfect but it's perfect for them.

I'm so super sad to see the Nice Guys series end, but Kindle not only ended on a high note, she wrote my favorite book and couple of the series. I not only love her hard as a person but with each book she burrows further and further into my heart with her characters and her words.

Inked on Paper by Nicole Edwards

I'm going to be completely honest writing this review is killing me. I love Nicole Edwards. I love everything she has written. She's one my go to author. I can read her books over and over and never get bored of them. But Inked on Paper, missed the mark for me.

I so very much wanted to love this book and it's characters, but I didn't. I had a hard time connecting with Presley and Jake. To me, their relationship felt unnatural at times. I had issues getting into their story and pushed myself through it, hoping it would catch me. But it never did.

Just writing this review is making me sad. And I know you can't love every book by your favorite author, but it still is bothersome.

To The Stars by Molly McAdams

Tiny bit of a confession time: I haven’t read a Molly McAdams book in a very long time. I’m thinking over a year and a half, if not longer. McAdams scares me, in the very best way, but scares me nonetheless. I’m sure if you’re familiar with a certain title of hers, you’ll know why. So because of that, I’m always a little leery, even with her undeniable talent and compelling storylines. When I read the synopsis for To The Stars, I couldn’t help it. I had to do it. HAD to do it. And goodness, I’m so glad I did.

This book…hurts. It hurts to read. It hurts your heart for the relationship that was lost along the way, yet the flame that never went out. It’s terrifying and painful to endure the relationship that the heroine is in. It’s a powerful read, but it’s not easy. So that would be the most important aspect that I would want to stress. Prepare yourself, because this isn’t a fluffy, feel good sort of tale. There’s Kindle-tossing, tears flowing, jaw dropping scenes and descriptions that will rip you apart, but carry on because the wait is worth it all. It will also open your eyes to an issue that so many women face, and that in itself will break your heart.

Wicked Lust by Sawyer Bennett

Wow, Sawyer Bennett! You had me fanning myself during some of these scenes. I had no doubt I would love Wicked Lust. Sawyer Bennett wrote it. But I didn’t realize just how much I would love this book.

Cain and Sloane were made for each other in my ways. But circumstances make you think that it won’t come together in the end. There is a lot of outside lust but a lot of things going on in the background that when it comes down to it, you’re just not sure it’s all going to work out.

One of the things I loved the most was how got under Cain’s skin. What, for both was supposed to be just a one night thing, very very quickly became more. There was a insta-lust. And that lust, that insatiable need for one another, grew. And it grew fast.

Sawyer Bennett has the type of writing where she hooks you, reels you in but keeps you guessing. It isn’t hook, line and sinker. It’s hook, line and whoa.I really wasn’t sure how this book was going to turn out. I knew there would be an HEA. It’s a standalone. But I knew they were going to implode. I just wasn’t sure how big and how it would affect their relationship. But this is truly the story of what doesn’t kill you or your relationship, makes you stronger.
