Holy hell this book is hot! The sex scenes WOW!
In Connected and Torn, you hear a bit about Xander and his past with Ivy. But wow, you don’t know the whole story. You see Xander as the manager to Wilde Ones but in Mended you really get to know him. And while I don’t agree with a lot of the choices he’s made in the past, you come to understand him as a brother and son.
Ivy is Xander’s first love. Ivy is his only love. And 13 years after breaking up, they are back in each other’s company and all the old feelings are there but so is all the hurt between them. But it’s all based on a lie. A lie Xander let go and never corrected so that he could stay home with his family and Ivy could get away from hers.
And reconnect they do. Kim Karr did a great job to make us feel the love between them. It was jumping off the page. She also did a great job at making us feel the hurt between them too. They do a great job in protecting each other, both in the past and the present. But they do a bad job in communicating. They keep information from each other, for protection.
When reading Connected and Torn, I never like Xander. He was the hard ass older brother/manager. He wanted his way, no matter what. But I came to love Xander in Mended. He is always looking out for everyone around him. His love for his family is enormous.
Ivy is a sweetheart. There’s not much else for me to say about her. She is determined and at times she might give in to people but only if she feels it will help her in the future.
I love this series and how Kim Karr writes. I can’t wait to see where these characters go in the rest of the series. I love the pieces of Dahlia and River I saw, even though my heart broke for them. I can’t wait to read Dahlia and Rivers, Aerie and Jagger and Xander and Ivy’s futures in rest of the series and I can’t wait to see Bell and Ben!
