I want to start out by saying that I really liked this book. I liked the story idea. I liked the characters. But there were parts of it that were distracting. I’m hoping its because it was still going through the editing process. When a blogger agrees to review a book, at times they are still works in progress. And majority of the time, I’m ok with that. But I felt that there were parts that were drawn out and that there were a lot of metaphors. It made it made it distracting at times and while metaphors work, this one had too many. I found myself skipping paragraphs. I would read the first line and get the idea of what the characters meant and moved on.
But as I said right away, I really liked this book. The story idea was unique. You don’t often read about 2 characters who are both famous. Usually its one or the other. But in Blindsided both Corey and Leah were famous, but for very different ways. Corey is the star quarterback for the LA Vipers NFL team. Known as the playboy football player, he is known for his actions both on and off the field. Leah is the daughter of one of Hollywood's most famous leading ladies. She isn’t famous for who she is but for who she is related to. And quite frankly, she hates it. Hates it so much that when she does something she really loves, she chooses not to put her real name on it. She is the type of person that wants to earn recognition for her work, not her name.

When they meet, he wants her for one night. Just like everyone else. But while she is attracted to him, she doesn’t want him. Well, she does. But she doesn’t. She doesn’t do one night stands. But the attraction is there. The want is there. And the more and more they see each other, the slow burn turns into a full inferno. And while she thinks he’s cocky, which he is, she agrees to give him one week. One week to woo her. To make her want him and actually give into him. But that one week, feelings change. They start to get to know each other. And that inferno, explodes.
Blindsided is the book that is the hate to love type. Maybe not complete hate. More like tolerate to love. The slow simmer. I like that things didn’t happen immediately. She made one of the most notorious playboys work for it. And I love that. She didn’t just fall into bed with him.
This book, even with the over the top metaphors, is still 4 stars for me. It made me happy. I couldn’t put it down. I love a good unique story. And that was Blindsided
