So I guess it’s my time to do a journal entry. And I’m warning you now, this is going to be a sort of therapy session for me.
I’ve been able to read a lot of books recently but the one that has had the most impact on me is Something Worth Saving by Chelsea Landon. I was asked to read this by Erin for a review.
This book has stuck with me. In fact, I read the book a earlier this past week and usually after I read a book for review, I write my review immediately. But I still haven’t been able to. Not because I didn’t like it. Not because I didn’t think it deserved a good review. But because of the personal impact it had on me.
Have you ever read a book that has made you reevaluate your life? One that has had an impact? That’s what Something Worth Saving did for me. I can relate so much to the characters and situations they are in with their relationship. It’s actually where I am right now in my marriage. No communication, letting this slip because you don’t want to upset the other, letting other things slip because it’s just not there anymore. The kids take priority, not the relationship. Everything takes priority over the relationship. I will admit, it’s been a tough few years between me and my husband. It’s had highs but the lows are outnumbering them right now.
But today, I had a very honest conversation with my husband. And I will say, Something Worth Saving, pushed me towards it. Not often does a book make me want to better something in my life. But Something Worth Saving is pushing me towards fighting for my marriage. I’ve fought before but I gave up that fight. But I’m fighting again.
I hope in the future that my relationship will have its HEA. It’s what we all want. Do I know right now if it will all work out? Nope. But I’m willing to fight. I want to say thank you to Chelsea Landon for reminding me that you need to fight and make it your priority.
On to happier things, because I feel like if you’ve read my therapy session, we need some thing more book related. Have you guys seen the awesome books that are coming out this week? The one I am most looking forward to is Tied with Me by Kristen Proby. I would normally say anything Colleen Hoover but I’ve had an amazing opportunity to read it already and let me say, WOW! Amazing! Colleen did it again! This book will not disappoint anyone. It was different, it was amazingly written and oh yeah, it comes with a soundtrack. And that soundtrack is awesome. My kids are actually sick of hearing it but then again I’m sick of hearing “Let It Go”. Oh yeah, Frozen comes out Tuesday too.
