Dark, gritty, powerful. Those are words to describe Fighting to Forget. This was nothing of what I expected. But so much more. This book took you down a path of figuring out the past and moving through it to live for the future. Two people that have a horrible connected past, come together and fight each other and then with each other for the future.
We’ve met both characters before in Fighting for Flight and Fighting to Forgive but never got much back story on either one. Mac was the waitress at the bar who became friends with Layla. Rex is another UFL fighter who likes pain. But what we learn is their connection. And how deep that is. And how tragic it is. In Fighting to Forget, we learn everything about them and none of its too pretty.
I seem to keep repeating myself. But if I say much more, I will tell you the entire story. And that’s not fair because you need to read it yourself and discover them. And learn about them. I have to say, I’ve loved each of J.B. Salsbury’s books, but this one is the best. To me, it’s a must read.
