Synopsis
Grant
Manwhore. Adrenaline junkie. Lead singer of ContraBand. What you see is what you get. I make no apologies for my actions, and by now no one expects any from me. I live my life the way I want and as long as it pushes the demons back, then I'm solid. I've never needed a chick for more than a good lay. Why would I need just one when I can have a different one every night?
Until she walks into my world.
Aribel
Mouthy. Perfectionist. Princeton student. Chemistry major. Yes, that pretty much describes me. Oh, and virgin. But I'm only nineteen, and have more important things to concern myself with. What really matters is finishing my degree and getting a good job. I’ve worked hard for what I want, and do what’s expected of me. I don’t need anyone to get in my way.
Until he opens up my world.
But if I give you my world, whatever you do…don’t TAKE ME for granted.

Review
There is nothing - absolutely nothing - like finding a new favorite book. We all know the feeling. You’re maybe 8-10% in and already in love. That was me with Take Me for Granted. Short of K.A. Linde killing everyone off, it had already shot up to the top of my recent faves. The best part was that it didn’t disappoint the further I got into the story. If anything, it just got better and better with every chapter.
Meet Aribel - Super smart but cares much more about her studies than any relationship, and thus leads to her being a virgin. You meet her as her boyfriend is breaking up with her (which doesn’t even phase her), and instantly get a feel on what type of person she is. When her friends drag her out, she meets Grant - The hot, charismatic front man for a local up and coming band, ContraBand. He can have any girl in the bar, and will openly say that, but he has his sights set on Ari. The greatest thing about Ari for me was that she is so strong and not amazed by Grant like all of the groupies are. She has no issue standing up to him and telling him no. But Grant is a stubborn guy and doesn’t accept that answer. It was so fun and sweet watching the playboy try to win over the girl. As their relationship matures and grows, you start seeing all new sides to these characters. They’re both new at having a real relationship, and watching their growth was such so great. It’s not all romance though. You’ve got everything you would expect - Groupies, drunken nights, secrets kept and misunderstandings. It’s definitely a fun journey with these two. I love these two characters though. Their connection was unlike a lot of other books. They aren’t afraid to argue, but they also aren’t afraid to say when they’re wrong. Honestly, there are a lot of swoonworthy moments, but the fights made this book for me. Am I weird for that? lol
K.A. Linde is the Queen of Angst. She does it better than just about anyone. There’s a little series about a bunch of D-Bags from Seattle? You’ve heard of it and can probably recite it word by word, right? This book has a HUGE Thoughtless feel to it. Not so much the characters because they each stand on their own (although Grant will remind you of Kellan, in the best ways), but the angst. Ahh, the angst! No one does it like Linde can. She’ll have you squirming through so much of this book. I was home alone and at a certain part, I had to put my kindle down, toss my hands in the air, and say “I just...I can’t. I can’t!” No one was there to listen to me, but I had to just...breathe. She’s one of my go to authors when I need that squirming, tummy-flipping feeling, and she has done it fantastically yet again with Take Me for Granted. But...it ends on a cliffhanger. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, just know that going in.
Overall, I thought this was a enjoyable, exciting read. It’s unputdownable, so go into it expecting to stay put til you’re finished. There’s a quote near the beginning of the book - “His eyes swept the crowd, making every single person around him feel like he was singing the song specifically to that person, but then his eyes would return to me - intense, enthralling, and alluring.” That’s this book in three words. Intense. Enthralling. Alluring. You’ll fall in love with these characters, and their wild ride.

Excerpt
“So, after your phone died earlier today, you didn’t call me back.” Aribel rolled her eyes and picked up her pace, carrying us out across an open field.
“Do you need my number for next time?” She humphed and kept walking. Jesus, what is with this chick? “You don’t take jokes very well, do you?”
“Excuse me, but did I lose a glass slipper or something?” she asked.
“What?” “A glass slipper. Do I look like Cinderella to you? Are you some kind of prince trying to sweep me off my feet? What is this whole charade, Grant?”
“No charade, babe. I just wanted to see you and take you out.”
“Uh-huh. Where exactly are you taking me?” I smirked at her.
“Dinner.” My bed.
“Why do I have a feeling that we’re not talking about eating the same thing?” I chuckled to myself. She had me there.
“Oh, come on. I didn’t even say that.” Though, if I had it my way, I’d be doing more than that tonight.
“You didn’t have to,” she called over her shoulder. I caught up to her again and started walking backward in front of her. I was probably making a spectacle of myself, but I didn’t really care. She didn’t even seem to notice that people were staring at us.
“Look, I really do want to take you out. I’m not one to deny myself the things I want, but I was talking about eating food with you.”
“No. And anyway, how did you know to find me? Are you stalking me or something now? Should I invest in a rape whistle?”
“No, but you can blow my whistle, baby.”
“Oh, dear Lord.”--
